What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation, I plan to go to UMD and pursue my PhD in neuroscience.
What is your favorite dance memory?
My favorite dance memory was learning my senior solo with Keele and Abigail. Keele had just finished teaching Abi her solo and was teaching me my routine. All three of us were tired, so when Keele tried teaching me a semi-complicated move, I broke into a country accent and asked, “I have to go to the floor?!” Immediately, we all just burst into laughter for 5 minutes. I was stuck on the ground, almost crying because I laughed hard. It was one of the most hilarious and bonding moments I’ve ever had at BBS.
What advice do you have for other dancers?
Find your joy in dance, whether in the people or the moves; forget about the rest of the world for an hour or two a week. And while there may be frustrating moments, enjoy it while you can because soon it’ll be your last year too.
Who would you like to thank?
I need to say a huge thank you to my parents. Thank you, Mom and Dad, for always supporting me in my passions, even though it sometimes makes life extra busy.
Thank you to my friends for making this experience so much better, and most of all, thank you Keele for being the best instructor and friend I could ask for.
